Follow each step carefully to get the most out of Get Recommendor

Step 1: Download & Upload Plugin

Download the Get Recommendor plugin and upload it to your WordPress store:

  1. Download the Get Recommendor plugin from: getrecommendor.com/download
  2. Log in to your WordPress dashboard at yourstore.com/wp-admin
  3. Navigate to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
  4. Click "Choose File" and select the get-recommendor.zip file you downloaded
  5. Click "Install Now" and wait for the upload to complete
  6. Click "Activate Plugin" to enable it on your store

Alternatively (FTP Upload): If you prefer using FTP, extract the plugin ZIP file and upload the get-recommendor folder to /wp-content/plugins/, then activate from the Plugins page in WordPress admin.

Step 2: Initialize Account

After activation, you'll see a new "Get Recommendor" menu in your WordPress dashboard. Click it to set up your account.

  1. In WordPress admin, click on Get Recommendor in the sidebar menu
  2. Enter your email address when prompted
  3. An account will be automatically created on getrecommendor.com with your email
  4. You're all set! The plugin will begin securely sending aggregated shopping signals to train your custom ML model

What happens next: The plugin will securely send aggregated shopping signals to our cloud platform, which trains a custom ML model for your store. All your account settings and configuration happen right in the WordPress plugin.

Step 3: Configure Settings & Features

All configuration happens in the WordPress plugin and directly affects what appears on your WooCommerce storefront.

  1. In WordPress admin, go to Get Recommendor → Settings
  2. Enable the features you want displayed:
    • Similar Products (appears on product pages)
    • Frequently Bought Together (appears in cart)
    • Smart Search (replaces search bar)
    • Abandoned Cart Recovery (automated emails)
    • And more...
  3. Customize display options:
    • Number of recommendations shown
    • Layout (grid, carousel, etc.)
    • Colors and styling to match your brand
    • Animation speed and behavior
  4. Changes take effect immediately on your WooCommerce frontend

Step 4: Test & Go Live

Before deploying to production, test the recommendations on your store.

  1. Visit your storefront and view a product page
  2. Verify that "Similar Products" recommendations appear
  3. Test the "Frequently Bought Together" section in your cart
  4. Use "Preview Mode" in settings to test without showing customers
  5. Once satisfied, disable Preview Mode to go live

Tip: It takes 24-48 hours for the ML model to learn from your store data and produce optimal recommendations. Performance improves over time as more customer signals are processed.

Common Questions & Troubleshooting

Do I need WooCommerce Pro or a specific plan?

No, Get Recommendor works with any WooCommerce store, including the free version. However, you do need an active Get Recommendor account to access the AI recommendation engine.

How long before recommendations appear?

The plugin starts showing recommendations immediately after activation. However, recommendation quality improves significantly after 24-48 hours as our ML model learns from your store data.

Will this slow down my store?

No. Our plugin uses aggressive caching and runs all heavy computations on our cloud servers. Your store remains fast, and recommendations are delivered in milliseconds.

Is my customer data private?
